Bell South Adds Center in Louisville,Kentucky

Bell south Telecommunications which does business as AT&T Kentucky, has decided to locate a call center that will create about 350 jobs on West Chestnut Street in downtown Louisville.

Last month, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority granted AT&T preliminary approval for $4 million in state tax incentives for up to 10 years.


The new workers will staff a 36,000-square-foot customer service call center, which will be added at AT&T's existing 202,000-square-foot facility on Chestnut Street. The jobs will create a new payroll of about $10 million.

In a news release, AT&T said it expects to spend about $1.5 million on the new call center.

Employees at the center will assist AT&T high-speed Internet subscribers who need technical support. The new jobs also will include management positions.
